Review of Events in Slovenia and Slovenia's International Activities from October 7 to 13

Ljubljana, 14 October - Last week was marked by hot discussions about the compromise law on new municipalities in Slovenia and the consequences it could have in different parts of Slovenia. An unwelcome response to the above mentioned law in the foreign policy was an exchange of diplomatic notes between Slovene and Croatian governments regarding four controversial Istrian hamlets, which lie in the area where the border between the two countries has not yet been established formally. Croatia once again showed a great deal of impatience. She did not wait for an agreement regarding telephone lines. Since she switched over the telephone lines from Slovene to Croatian net to 13 households in the area along the Dragonja river, Slovene Foreign Ministry send a note of protest to the Embassy of Republic of Croatia to Slovenia.
