Ljubljana, 25 December - Joze P. Damijan was appointed minister without portfolio for overseeing the implementation of the government-sponsored economic and social reforms. The parliament moreover backed the changes to the trade act which stipulate that shops will be closed on Sundays as of 2006. The ban was met with mixed response, with the National Council vetoing the amendments. The National Assembly will now have to take a renewed vote on the legislation.
