Curator Anka Novak Receives Valvasor Award

Ljubljana, 17 May - MUSEUM/VALVASOR/AWARD
On the occasion of World Museum Day, 18 May, Anka Novak, ethnologist and museum adviser to the Museum of Gorenjska in Kranj, received the highest award for the work in the area of museum activities and museum science in Slovenia. The award bears the name of polymath, "ancestor and teacher of all museologists", Janez Vajkard Valvasor. This year marks the 300th anniversary of his death. Anka Novak was granted this award for her life's work in the area of collecting, preserving, documenting and exhibiting monuments of the cultural life of Gorenjska and the customs of its inhabitants.
