SKD President - Lojze Peterle, Secretary General - Vida Čadonič Špelič

The third congress of the Slovene Christian Democrats (SKD) wound up early Monday morning in Ljubljana. Lojze Peterle was reelected as the President of the party, while Vida Čadonič Špelič, an SKD deputy, became the new Secretary General. Peter Vencelj, State Secretary to the foreign ministry charged for Slovenes in the world, and Janko Deželak, manager of the Agency for Rehabilitation of Banks, were elected as vice-presidents. Izidor Rejc, President to the SKD Council, the highest-ranking organ in the period between two congresses, remains at his post.
