Ljubljana, 12 March - Schedule of events in the week from from 13 to 19 March:

MONDAY, 13 March
        LJUBLJANA - The social partners - representatives of the trade unions, the employers and the government - will continue the debate on taxes as part of talks on a new social agreement for the 2006-2009 period.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - A meeting of the EU's competitiveness council will be attended by Slovenia's Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak.
        LJUBLJANA - The newly appointed non-residential Icelandic Ambassador Kristinn F. Arnason will present a copy of his credentials to State Secretary at the Foreign Ministry Bozo Cerar.
        RIMSKE TOPLICE - A partnership and shareholder's contract for the dilapidated spa Rimske Toplice will be signed by Local Government and Regional Policy Minister Ivan Zagar and the spa's lessee the Medical and Rehabilitation Centre.
        LJUBLJANA - The Culture Ministry is to stage a news conference on the development and the programme policy of the Slovenian Film Fund.
        LJUBLJANA - The 8th International Festival of Documentary Film will be opened by the "March of the Penguins", which won the 2006 best documentary Oscar award.
        SAO PAULO, Brazil - A delegation of the parliamentary commission for Slovenians abroad will begin its ten-day visit to South America.
        LJUBLJANA - The KNS trade union confederation will stage a press conference on the cancellation of labour contracts for the union's representatives in the Lama Dekani company, which was recently acquired by UK's Titus International.

TUESDAY, 14 March
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - A meeting of the EU's Economic and Financial Affairs Council. Slovenian Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is expected to take part.
        STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak will travel to Sweden for a one-day visit.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - A session of the EU's Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council will be attended by the acting director general of the energy directorate at the Economics Ministry Franc Zlahtic.
        LJUBLJANA - The national telco Telekom Slovenije will present its unaudited business results for 2005 at a news conference.
        LJUBLJANA - One of the country's smallest mobile operators, Debitel, will stage a news conference, which will also touch on the company's position in the mobile telecommunications market.

WEDNESDAY, 15 March
        BERLIN, Germany - Slovenian PM Janez Jansa will travel to Germany for an official visit, upon invitation by Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel.
        LJUBLJANA - The 42nd regular session of the upper chamber, the National Council.

THURSDAY, 16 March
        LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is scheduled to meet at a regular session.
        VIENNA, Austria - An informal two-day meeting of EU education ministers will be attended by Slovenia's Milan Zver.
        LEIPZIG, Germany - The start of the Leipzig book fair, showcasing Slovenian writers Maja Vidmar, Andrej E. Skubic, Jani Virk and Andrej Blatnik. The event is scheduled to last until Sunday, 19 March.
        LJUBLJANA - The Administrative Court will present its activities in 2005 at a news conference.

FRIDAY, 17 March
        LJUBLJANA - The European Commission and the Slovenian government will stage a conference on Slovenia's entry into the eurozone and the euro changeover.
        LJUBLJANA - The Luxembourg Justice Minister Luc Frieden will arrive to Slovenia for a two-day working visit upon invitation by his Slovenian counterpart Lovro Sturm.
        LJUBLJANA - Sessions by the parliamentary foreign policy committee and the EU affairs committee. The heads of deputy groups are also scheduled to meet.
        LJUBLJANA - FM Dimitrij Rupel is scheduled to hold farewell talks with the outgoing non-residential South Korean Ambassador to Slovenia Cho Chang.
        SIRMIONE, Italy - A meeting of Italian, Hungarian, Croatian and Slovenian labour and social affairs ministers, to be attended by Slovenia's Janez Drobnic.

SATURDAY, 18 March
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenian women's handball champion Krim Mercator will chase a seven-goal gap in the return match of the Champions League quarterfinals against Russia's Lada Togliatti.
        PLANICA - Ski-jumping World Cup comes to Slovenia.

SUNDAY, 19 March
        PLANICA - Ski-jumping World Cup meet.
