LJUBLJANA - The government and the European Commission will host a top-level conference on Slovenia's eurozone entry, examining Slovenia's macroeconomic challenges and practical aspects of the euro adoption. The conference starts at 9 AM. European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs Joaquin Almunia and Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk are to talk to the press at 10 AM, with Almunia scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Janez Jansa at 1 PM. LJUBLJANA - Luxembourg Justice Minister Luc Frieden is to arrive on a working visit at the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Lovro Sturm. Talks are to focus on measures to reduce backlogs at courts. The ministers are to give a press statement at 5:50 PM. (STA/PHOTO)
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary committees for foreign and EU affairs are to look into the government's plan of EU activities in 2006 at sessions taking place at 9:30 AM and 1 PM respectively.
SIRMIONE, Italy - Labour Minister Janez Drobnic is to attend a meeting of labour and social affairs ministers of the quadrilateral, a regional initiative bringing together Italy, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia. Labour market and social cohesion are to top the agenda.
VIENNA, Austria - The final day of a informal meeting of EU education ministers. Slovenian Education Minister Milan Zver and Minister of Higher Education and Science Jure Zupan are attending the two-day event.
LJUBLJANA - People's Party (SLS) president Janez Podobnik and deputy group leader Jakob Presecnik are to comment on Thursday's meeting of the government coalition at a press conference due a 11:30 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to receive at 11:30 AM the outgoing Ambassador of South Korea, Cho Chang.
