Papers Dwell on Consequences of Euro Changeover

Ljubljana/Maribor, 18 March - The three leading Slovenian dailies examine the significance of the planned Slovenian switch to the euro in Saturday's commentaries. While Delo claims the changeover will secure political points for the current Slovenian government, Vecer fears hidden price hikes. On the other hand, Dnevnik believes Slovenia will not be an equal member of the eurozone because its workers will continue to be subject to free flow restrictions in some of the old EU members.
