Ljubljana, 25 March - The resignation of Development Minister Joze P. Damijan dominated the headlines this week, especially as he stepped down for personal reasons that he did not explain initially. This led pundits to speculations that he was at loggerheads with the government over privatisation plans for the bank NLB or, alternatively, that he was involved in insider trading and had to go. Also this week, Archbishop Franc Rode was elevated to cardinal and PM Janez Jansa was busy at the EU summit, which was low-key but nevertheless set goals that Jansa said Slovenia would have to work hard to achieve.
