Ljubljana, 29 March - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 30 March:
LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to resume its session at 9 AM with a debate on the changes to the central bank act. The amendments, which are in emergency procedure, are one of the prerequisites for the adoption of the euro. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Amendments to the act on return of investments in the public telecommunications network and amendments to the act on higher education are the main items on the agenda of the regular government session. A press conference is scheduled for noon. (STA/PHOTO)
KRANJ - Chairman of the NATO military committee, General Raymond Henault, will conclude a two-day visit to Slovenia. He is to be received by President Janez Drnovsek and visit the Kranj barracks alongside the representatives of the NATO military committee, which is in session in Slovenia.
ROME, Italy - Social Democrats (SDS) president Janez Jansa and New Slovenia (NSi) president Andrej Bajuk are to take part in a congress of the European People's Party (EPP), which runs through Friday.
OHRID, Macedonia - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate is to start a three-day visit to Macedonia. Talks with his counterpart Ljubomir Mihajlovski are to focus on Macedonia's efforts to join the EU and the problems it is encountering in this field.
LJUBLJANA - The Defence Ministry and the Ljubljana-based Institute for Strategic Studies are to stage a debate on Slovenia's role in the globalisation of security at 2:30 PM. Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to deliver the keynote address.
MARIBOR - The start at 9 AM of PODIM, an international conference on entrepreneurship and innovation. Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak, University of Maribor Chancellor Ivan Rozman and a number of managers are to take part in a debate on Slovenia's technological breakthrough at 4:30 PM.
BLED - The 38th international PEN meeting is scheduled to start with a round-table debate entitled "Globalisation of the World - Marginalisation of Literature" (9:30 AM). A second round table on the role of PEN in the modern world is scheduled for 3 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Health Minister Andrej Brucan and Ljubljana Mayor Danica Simsic are to attend a round-table debate on the forthcoming bill on patients' rights, which is organised by a coalition of health NGOs; at noon.
PORTOROZ - The two-day conference on management in health care is to start at 9 AM with a keynote address by Health Ministry State Secretary Dorijan Marusic. The event is organised by business education firm GV Izobrazevanje.
KRANJ - An award-winning ceremony is to conclude the annual festival "The Week of Slovenian Drama", with the Slavko Grum Award for best Slovenian theatre text and the Rudi Seligo Award for best production to be conferred at 7:30 PM. (STA)
PORTOROZ - The advertiser of the year, advertising personality of the year and a short list of ads in all categories are to be presented at a press conference held as part of the Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF) at 3 PM.
