LDS: Peterle Cannot Impose Conditions for SKD's Cooperation in the Coalition Any More

The Executive Committee of the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS, ruling) met behind closed doors Friday to discuss the Slovene-Italian relations and the last developments in the ruling coalition. In an STA interview, Igor Bavčar, Vice-President to the LDS, said the Executive Committee supported government's and Premier Drnovšek's standpoints regarding the negotiations with Italy and estimated Lojze Peterle (SKD, ex-foreign minister) was not any more in a position to impose any conditions for SKD's cooperation in the coalition. "LDS does not believe Peterle could be involved in any combination," Bavčar stressed.
