Ljubljana, 18 April - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 19 April:

NOVA GORICA - The cabinet is expected to tour Severno Primorsko region (north-west) as part of its tour of statistical regions to meet local politicians and business people. A news conference by PM Janez Jansa, Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk and Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - A rally dubbed "Black Wednesday" is to be staged at 11 AM by the Slovenian Students' Organisation (SOS) to warn that the planned social and economic reforms could worsen their social status. (STA/PHOTO)

BOAO, China - President Janez Drnovsek is to travel to China to attend the fifth annual Boao Forum for Asia 2006.

LJUBLJANA - The college of deputy group heads and the speaker of parliament is to discuss the agenda of the National Assembly's April session and the recent ruling coalition's criticisms of the two opposition deputy speakers at separate sessions (the first begins at 2 PM).

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary foreign policy committee is to meet at 2 PM to discuss the ratification of several international treaties.

LJUBLJANA - The National Electoral Commission is to meet at 3 PM to confirm the report on the 9 April referendums on establishing new municipalities.

LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's Nuclear Safety Administration is to unveil a publication on the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, titled "The Chernobyl Legacy: Health, Environmental and Socio-Economic Effects and Recommendations to the Belorussian, Russia and Ukrainian Governments". A press conference is scheduled for 11 AM.

IG - Ivar Roennbaeck, the deputy director general of the Swedish Rescue Services Agency, is expected on a two-day visit to the education facility of the Slovenian Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief.

LJUBLJANA - Education and Sports Minister Milan Zver is scheduled to meet Croatia's Minister of Science, Education and Sports Dragan Primorac.

LJUBLJANA - The 6th international symposium TMCE 2006 (Tools and Methods for Competitive Engineering) is to be officially opened. The event, organised by the University of Ljubljana and the Dutch Delft University of Technology, will focus on technological innovations in product development.

SKOPJE, Macedonia - The Macedonian National Theatre will be hosting the Ljubljana Drama Theatre for four days, in what will be one of the largest guest appearances of the Slovenian theatre in Macedonia. On this occasion STA is to release a feature background about the tour. (STA)
