SLOVENIAN PRESS REVIEW
Ljubljana, 9 May - DEIO: "MESSIAH" ON SOLID GROUND - The formation of the new government confirms that the act of bringing down the Mr. Peterle's government did not involve any great "national interests" or perhaps even some kind of "national rescue", as was portrayed during the accompanying political campaign, but rather involved only the interests of party leaders who wanted to gain power or remain in power, writes Danilo Slivnik. Consequently, there are more than enough reasons for concern because the new coalition, with particular left orientation, is designed so as to exclude the rightist elements, or the representatives of those social groups whose existence attests to the achievement of true social changes and the actual transition to a new economic system. Therefore, power is once again in the hands of those people that ruled during the administrative period, exemplified by the new deputy Prime Minister, Herman Rigelnik, as its most typical representative.
