WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FROM SLOVENIA BETWEEN MAY 3 AND 9

Ljubljana, 9 May - Week of lively Slovenian diplomatic activity in the international arena, while there is "peace" in party show-downs and, in compliance with the new constitution, practice of "cross examining" the ministerial candidates, proposed by the new premier, Mr. Janez Drnovšek, is also underway. Near, yet far, Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to bleed this week, while the slow "pragmatic" diplomatic wheels grind on, without giving out much flour yet, although, more than before and, above all, the USA, the view has been affirmed that the butchering in the Balkans is (above all) the fault of Serbia, or should we say, the third Yugoslavia, which has christened itself the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
