Ljubljana, 3 May - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 4 May:

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to begin a two-day official visit to Slovakia, which will mainly focus on strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. He is to meet Slovakian President Ivan Gasparovic at 5:30 PM, while he will be received by his host and counterpart Eduard Kukan and acting Parliament Speaker Bela Bugar on Friday. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to meet for its regular weekly session. Among the items on the agenda are also changes to the act on municipalities related to the creation of new self-governing units. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA/PHOTO)

VIENNA, Austria - Interior Affairs Minister Dragutin Mate is to attend a two-day ministerial conference organised by Austria as part of its EU presidency. The ministers are to sign the Vienna Declaration on Security Partnership. Before the conference, the future EU presiding countries are to hold a meeting with representatives from the US and Russia.

HELSINKI, Finland - A parliamentary delegation, headed by Deputy Parliament Speaker Vasja Klavora, is to attend a two-day meeting of the Asian European Parliamentary Partnership.

BRNIK - Wizz Air, the biggest no-frills carrier in Central and Eastern Europe, and Aerodrom Ljubljana, the company running Slovenia's main airport, are to speak to the press at 11 AM about cooperation.

KRSKO - Pulp and paper mill Vipap Videm Krsko, one of the Posavje region's biggest employers, is to talk to the press at 11:30 AM about their plans to lay off up to 350 workers as it starts phasing out pulp production in October.

IZOLA - Slovenian Environment Minister Janez Podobnik will be participating in a panel titled "Gas Terminal - An Economic Necessity or Environmental Catastrophe for the Northern Adriatic". At 5 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Red Cross is to speak to the press at 11 AM about the week of the Slovenian Red Cross and the organisation's 140th anniversary.
