MONDAY, 8 May
LJUBLJANA - PM Janez Jansa is to meet his economic college, continue the day by holding privatisation talks with presidents of the coalition parties and the deputy group heads and complete the day with a first meeting of the Development Partnership signatories.
LJUBLJANA - The Bank of Slovenia is to present to the press a report on monetary policy.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Major General Ladislav Lipic, the Slovenian Armed Forces chief of staff, is to take part in a four-day annual meeting of NATO chiefs of staff.
LJUBLJANA - The social partners are to resume talks on a 2006-2009 social agreement, and are expected to continue discussing a chapter on employment and labour market.
LJUBLJANA - The 17th anniversary of the "May Declaration", a statement written by an emerging Slovenian opposition which urged Slovenian independence.
LJUBLJANA - A Plecnik Awards 2006 ceremony with Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik as honorary speaker.
LJUBLJANA - A guest appearance by the Royal Flemish Ballet as an introduction to the 12th Exodus festival.
TUESDAY, 9 May
NEW YORK, US - The first election of members of the newly-established UN Human Rights Council to take place at the General Assembly, with Slovenia considered a candidate with good chances of becoming one of the 47 elected countries. The election to last two or three days.
LJUBLJANA - Liechtenstein's Foreign Minister Rita Kieber-Beck is to pay an official visit to Slovenia and is scheduled to meet FM Dimitrij Rupel.
LJUBLJANA - A Forum 21 debate entitled "The Values of Slovenians and the Proposed Reforms: a Knowledge Society?"
LJUBLJANA - The Faculty of Social Sciences and its Eurpopean studies programme are to organise a panel entitled "Tommorow's World: Challenges for the EU and Slovenia". The opening adress by FM Dimitrij Rupel.
LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Affairs Ministry are organising a meeting on the new companies act.
PORTOROZ - Opening ceremony of the 11th international boat exhibition Internautica 2006. The three-day show will be opened by Transport Minister Janez Bozic.

RIGA, Latvia - Slovenia are to take on Latvia in their third qualifying match at the World Ice Hockey Championships.
WEDNESDAY, 10 May
SOFIA, Bulgaria - PM Janez Jansa, accompanied by FM Dimitrij Rupel, Economic Affairs Minister Andrej Vizjak and a team of economists, is to pay an official visit to Bulgaria.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Interior Affairs Minister Dragutin Mate is to attend a panel on European security.
MALAGA, Spain - A Slovenian delegation is to attend a three-day conference entitled "eHealth and Health Policies: Synergies for better Health in a Europe of Regions".
LJUBLJANA - A panel featuring NGOs from the Western Balkans that will focus on the region's EU perspective is to be held as part of Europe Week.
THURSDAY, 11 May
VIENNA, Austria - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to attend a two-day summit of EU, Latin American and Caribbean states.
LJUBLJANA - A debate on the future of Europe's energy policy to be organised by the parliamentary committees for EU affairs and economy.
LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to meet for its regular weekly session.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary inquiry commission looking into possible damage to state property in the sale of shareholdings by two state-run funds KAD and SOD is to meet.
PORTOROZ - The Ljubljana Stock Exchange is to organise a two-day conference entitled "The Development Opportunities of the Slovenian Capital Market".
NICE, France - The Slovenian national theatre SNG Drama Ljubljana is to make a guest appearance at the Centre dramatique national in Nice. SNG Drama will present itself with Proust's "In Search of Lost Time".
FRIDAY, 12 May
LJUBLJANA - Nikolaus van der Pas, director general of the European Commission DG for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, is to visit Slovenia. He is scheduled to meet representatives of the Labour and Social Affairs Ministry and the Social and Economic Council.

SATURDAY, 13 May
CERKLJE OB KRKI - The main ceremony marking 15 years since the Slovenian army was established.
POLJANA PRI PREVALJAH - A ceremony marking the anniversary of the final days of fighting in WWII in Europe, with Former Slovenian President Milan Kucan as honorary speaker.
MUNICH, Germany - The dance theatre "Plesni teater Ljubljana" is to begin a comprehensive five-day guest appearance at Munich's "i-camp Neues Theater".
