SOFIA, Bulgaria - PM Janez Jansa is to pay an official visit to Bulgaria accompanied by Economic Affairs Minister Andrej Vizjak and Foreign Ministry State Secretary Bozo Cerar. Together with his counterpart Sergei Stanishev, Jansa is to speak to the press around 12:30 PM. A Bulgarian-Slovenian business forum is scheduled for 1 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Luxembourg Parliament Speaker Lucien Weiler is scheduled to meet his counterpart France Cukjati (9:30 AM), FM Dimitrij Rupel (3 PM) and members of the parliamentary committees for European and foreign affairs. Weiler and Cukjati are to give press statements at 11 AM. (STA/PHOTO)
LJUBLJANA - The Economic and Social Council, the industrial relations forum, is to debate guidelines for amendments to the employment relationships act. The session starts at 2 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary committee on culture is to scrutinise the amendments to the media act at a session which starts at 9 AM. Media experts and journalists oppose the provisions on the right to corrections and the funding of programmes.
LJUBLJANA - Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to speak about current issues, including hate speech, at a press conference scheduled for 10 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The annual general meeting of oil company Petrol is to get underway at 10 AM. A capital increase proposed by the state-owned Pension Fund Management (KAD), which owns 8.1% of the share capital, is to top the agenda alongside the proposals for a dividend payout.
LJUBLJANA - The Greens of Slovenia and the Italian Greens are to stage a joint press conference at noon to discuss the region's energy policies in the light of the planned construction of a gas terminal in the Gulf of Trieste.
LJUBLJANA - NGOs from the Western Balkans are to speak about the EU prospects of countries in the region at an 11 AM panel at the Cankarjev dom arts and convention centre. The event is part of Europe Week celebrations.
LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to receive credentials from the new Bangladeshi Ambassador A. B. Manjoor Rahim (11 AM), India Ambassador Ranjit Rae (12:15 PM) and Macedonia Ambassador Samoil Filipovski (1:30 PM). The Indian and Macedonian ambassadors are also to hand over copies of credentials to FM Dimitrij Rupel.
