LJUBLJANA - STA is to release an interview with a top Slovenian police official about the forthcoming EU evaluation of Slovenia's land border. An EU team of experts is to inspect if the land border meets Schengen-zone standards. (STA)

CERKLJE OB KRKI - A ceremony at the Cerklje military airport at 11 AM is to mark the 15th anniversary of Slovenian Armed Forces day. President Janez Drnovsek will be the keynote speaker, while the ceremony will also be addressed by Defence Minister Karl Erjavec and Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Ladislav Lipic. The event is also to be attended by NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Transformation, General Lance L. Smith. (STA/PHOTO)

POLJANA PRI PREVALJAH - Slovenia's Former President Milan Kucan is to address an 11 AM ceremony on the anniversary of one of the last battles of WWII at the statue of Peace and Freedom near Prevalje.

KOSTANJEVICA NA KRKI - Slovenian humanitarian organisations have teamed up with the US ambassador to Slovenia and one of Slovenia's leading cycling clubs to organise a cycling marathon to raise money for the people of the war-torn Sudanese region of Darfur. The "Cycling for Darfur" race is to start at 10:30 AM.

MUNICH, Germany - The dance group Plesni teater Ljubljana is to stage its productions between 13 and 17 May as part of the week of contemporary Slovenian dance at the i-camp Neues Theater.
