Czech Climber Dies in Kranj Hospital
Kranj, 12 May - One of the two Czech alpinists who were taken to a hospital in Kranj after falling off a 50-metre precipice on Thursday, died in the hospital on Friday.
The 26-year old climber died at around 2 PM from wounds received during his ascent to the 2,740 metre Mt. Skrlatica in the Julian Apls, Kranj police said today.
According to the police, two extreme skiers heard a shriek yesterday around noon and saw the unfortunate climbers falling off the precipice.
Upon reaching them, the skiers found them unconscious and offered first aid. They then waited for the police and a rescue helicopter, which took the Czechs to Kranj.
