Ljubljana, 15 May - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 16 May:
STRASBOURG, France - The European Commission and European Central Bank (ECB) are scheduled to release separate assessments of Slovenia's readiness to join the eurozone as of 1 January 2007. Both institutions are expected to give Slovenia the thumbs up in their reports thereby paving the way for it to become the first among the countries that joined the EU in May 2004 to adopt the euro. LJUBLJANA - The chief negotiator of the international community for Kosovo, Martti Ahtisaari, is to visit Slovenia. Ahtisaari is to meet FM Dimitrij Rupel at 10 AM, with a press conference scheduled to take place after the meeting. (STA)
THE HAGUE, the Netherlands - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to begin a two-day working visit to the Netherlands. On the first day of his visit, Rupel is to hold a meeting with members of the Dutch parliamentary committees for European affairs and foreign affairs. Rupel is to meet his Dutch counterpart Bernard Beta and the Hague Tribunal's chief prosecutor Carla Del Ponte on Wednesday. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Montenegrin FM Miodrag Vlahovic is to hold a lecture ahead of the Montenegrin independence referendum. The event, scheduled for 5 PM, is being organised by the Atlantic Council of Slovenia and the Slovenian Foreign Relations Association.
LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to meet Bosnia-Herzegovina Minister for Human Rights and Refugees Mirsad Kebo. The two officials are to sign a convention on the avoidance of double taxation between the countries. A press conference is scheduled for 11:20 AM. (STA)
LISBON, Portugal - Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Janez Drobnic is to attend a two-day conference of European ministers responsible for family affairs .
AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - Army Chief-of-Staff, Major General Ladislav Lipic, is to begin an official two-day visit to the Netherlands.
LJUBLJANA - A delegation of the Slovak parliamentary European affairs committee is to meet members of the Slovenian parliamentary EU affairs committee. The heads of the Slovenian and Slovak committees, Anton Kokalj and Tibor Mikus, are to address the press at 10:40 AM.
LJUBLJANA - A delegation of the Kosovo parliament, headed by Deputy Speaker Naim Maloku, is to pay a visit to Slovenia at the invitation of the parliamentary commission for intelligence and security services oversight. The guests will also be received by Defence Minister Karl Erjavec.
CANNES, France - The Slovenian Film Fund will for the third time present the Slovenian film industry at the film market as part of the high-profile film festival in this French resort. The presentation will run through 28 May.
