LJUBLJANA - At its weekly session, the government is to discuss the 2006 Development Report and the 2006 Spring Report, both drafted by its macroeconomic think-thank. Sending soldiers to support the African Union mission in Darfur and to an EU mission in DR Congo are also on its agenda. Press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The CEO of Russia's oil giant OAO Lukoil Vagit Alekperov is to meet PM Janez Jansa (1 PM) and Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak to discuss development potential of the Slovenian energy sector and economic cooperation between the two countries.
PARIS, France - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to pay a working visit to France to meet his French counterpart Philipp Douste-Blazy (4:15 PM) to discuss EU topics and bilateral cooperation. (STA)
VARNA, Bulgaria - President Janez Drnovsek is to travel to Bulgaria to attend the 13th meeting of Central European presidents. He is to speak at the plenary dedicated to the present and future of the EU. The summit concludes on Friday.
LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk and Bank of Slovenia Governor Mitja Gaspari are to present a report of technical preparations for the euro at a session of three parliamentary committees (EU affairs; finance and monetary policy; economic affairs) at 2 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to speak to the press at 10 AM about how well companies are prepared for the forthcoming introduction of the euro. (STA/PHOTO)
LJUBLJANA - Speaker of the Irish House of Commons Rory O'Hanlon will be visiting Slovenia. He is to speak to the press together with his host, Speaker of the National Assembly France Cukjati at 4:35 PM. O'Hanlon has also a meeting with PM Janez Jansa.
VARAZDIN, Croatia - A two-day meeting of interior ministers from Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary is to be attended by Slovenia's Dragutin Mate. The meeting is to focus on improving cross-border cooperation.
PORTOROZ - Private and public in the health care will be in the focus of the 13th meeting of economists and health care managers, with Health Minister Andrej Brucan to speak about concessions at 3 PM.
BERLIN, Germany - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec will be in Berlin for a two-day global security conference.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Education Minister Milan Zver and Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti are to attend a two-day meeting of the EU Council of Education, Youth and Culture.
ATHENS, Greece - Anzej Dezan will try to win Slovenia a place in the Saturday finals of the 2006 European Song Contest, appearing as the third performer in today's semi-finals with the song "Plan B", which he will sing in English as "Mr Nobody".
LJUBLJANA - A news conference is to be held ahead of the 21st international Vilenica International Writers' Meeting at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) is to hold a press conference upon International Museum Day at 11 AM. Several museums around the country will have an open-house day.
LJUBLJANA - The 12th Exodos festival of performing arts is to open with a concert by the Musicians of the Nile at 9 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The international advertising festival Golden Drum is to be presented to the press at 12:30 PM.
