Ljubljana, 21 May - The news of the week for Slovenia came from Brussels as the European Commission's convergence report said the country was in compliance with all the membership criteria, which paves the way for Slovenia to join the eurozone on 1 January 2007. The president of Russian oil giant Lukoil visited Slovenia and expressed his company's interest in partnership with a number of Slovenian companies. Meanwhile, the NLB privatisation story took a new turn as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced that it was selling its 5% stake in Slovenia's largest bank.
