Ljubljana, 24 May - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 25 May:
LJUBLJANA - The cabinet's regular session is expected to debate the first report of an inter-ministerial team on forming Slovenia's positions on Italy's planned construction of natural gas terminals in the direct vicinity of Slovenia's sea border among other items. Other items on its agenda include the wine bill and changes to the police act. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA/FOTO)
LJUBLJANA - MPs are to continue the May session of parliament with the second reading of the public law and order bill and the bill on societies. The session is set to start at 9 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Parliament Speaker France Cukjati is expected to receive at 10AM state prosecutor general Barbara Brezigar, who is to submit the report on the activities of state prosecutors for 2005.
LJUBLJANA - Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant and the head of the Trade Union of Public Servants Drago Scernjavic are to sign a statement on the bill to regulate salaries in the public sector. A statement for the press is expected at 4PM.
PORTOROZ - The Chamber of Craft Industries (OZS) is to launch the three-day Days of Slovenian Crafts by staging a forum of craftsmen and entrepreneurs as well as conferring the award for the Craftsman of the Year. Numerous ministers are expected to attend the event that is set to begin at 1:30 PM. (STA)
STRUNJAN - An international meeting on preserving biodiversity in the northern Adriatic will present its conclusions to the press at 12:15 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The Ljubljana-based International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES), the Government PR and Media Office and the Center Evropa are to stage at 4 PM a meeting entitled Iraq, Kurds and Europe, with Burhan Jaf, Kurdish Regional Government representative at the EU, set to deliver a lecture.
LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek's book entitled "Misli o zivljenju in zavedanju" (Thoughts on Life and Awareness) will be presented at 3 PM.
