MOSCOW, Russia - PM Janez Jansa is to begin a three-day visit to Russia, where he is to meet his Russian counterpart Mikhail Fradkov and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Jansa will be accompanied by FM Dimitrij Rupel, Defence Minister Karl Erjavec, Economics Minster Andrej Vizjak, Agriculture Minister Marija Lukacic, and a strong business delegation. Vizjak is also to attend the fifth meeting of the Slovenia-Russia intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation. (STA)
BRUSSELS, Belgium - A two-day session of EU ministers responsible for competition is to get underway with a focus on the EU's services directive. Slovenia is to be represented by Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Jure Zupan, and State Secretary at the Economics Ministry Andrijana Starina Kosem.
KREMS, Austria - EU agriculture ministers are to hold an informal meeting on the competitiveness of European agriculture, as well as research and innovation in agriculture. State Secretary at the Agriculture Ministry Franc But is also to attend.

LJUBLJANA - Social partners are to resume talks on the 2006-2009 social agreement, focusing this time on employment and labour market. The head of the government's negotiating team Dusan Krajnik is to give a statement to the press after the meeting at 3:15 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The director of Austria's Environment Agency Georg Rebernig is expected in Slovenia, where he will be received at 4 PM by Austrian Ambassador to Slovenia Valentin Inzko and Health Minister Andrej Brucan.
LJUBLJANA - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm is to receive at 2 PM a delegation of Slovenian jurists from Austria's province of Carinthia, headed by Roland Grilc, the president of the Association of Slovenian Carinthian Jurists.
LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology and the NATO Science Committee are to host a workshop on dynamic processes and human activities in Western Balkan states. The workshop it to begin at 9 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The council of the coalition Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) is to hold a session at 9:30 AM to mark the party's 15th anniversary, with the party's president Karl Erjavec as the keynote speaker. The party's position in the coalition and in the Development Partnership, and its preparations for this year's local elections are to top the agenda.
MURSKA SOBOTA - A press conference is scheduled for 10 AM ahead of the inauguration of the newly-appointed Murska Sobota Bishop Marjan Turnsek, and the recently-established diocese in Murska Sobota.
