LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to adopt amendments to the act on public sector wages, a bill on the promotion of foreign direct investment and the model for the reform of the EU's common agriculture policy in Slovenia in the 2007-2013 period. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The four main protagonists of an infamous process which many consider to be the defining chapter that led to the independence from the former Yugoslavia, are to hold a meeting at 1 PM. The meeting marks the 18th anniversary of the act that sparked mass protests, the arrest of the then journalist of the weekly Mladina, incumbent Prime Minister Janez Jansa. (STA/PHOTO)
BANGKOK, Thailand - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is set to attend the ministerial of the Human Security Network as Slovenia begins its one-year stint at the helm of the informal group of states that promote the resolution of burning humanitarian issues. (STA)
POSTOJNA/PIRAN/BLED/GORISKA BRDA - Monaco Prince Albert II is to conclude his visit to Slovenia with a tour of the Postojna caves, the seaside town of Piran and the Alpine resort of Bled. He is also expected to hold talks in Goriska Brda with Prime Minister Janez Jansa at 3:45 PM.
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - The EU council on employment, social affairs, public health and consumer protection will start a two-day session. Labour Minister Janez Drobnic will be on hand on the first day.
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm is to take part in a meeting of the EU council on justice and home affairs. The legal groundwork for the second-generation Schengen Information System will top the agenda.
LJUBLJANA - The Peace Institute, an NGO, is to present the first report on the monitoring of RTV Slovenija following the adoption of the controversial new law governing the public broadcaster; at 10 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The Institute for Economic Research is to stage a press conference at 9 AM to outline where Slovenia stands globally in terms of competitiveness.
MARIBOR - Posta Slovenije, the postal company, is to present results for the first quarter and strategic guidelines at a press conference scheduled for 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Parliament Speaker France Cukjati is to receive his Albanian counterpart Jozefina Topalli at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - A conference on ethics in medicine is to kick off at 9 AM. Health reform and impending legislative changes in the field will also be on the agenda of the two-day event.
LJUBLJANA - An exhibition of costume designer Alan Hranitelj's creations in the past 20 years is to open at at the International Centre of Graphic Arts (MGLC) at 9 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The winner of the Pretnar Award for the promotion of Slovenian literature abroad will be declared at a news conference at 11 AM, alongside the presentation of the 5th Herberstein festival of Slovenian authors. Last year the award went to Czech translator and publicist Frantisek Benhart.
