LJUBLJANA - STA will in the morning release a feature background about Slovenia's efforts to gain independence 15 years ago. (STA)
DOMZALE - The recently-elevated Cardinal Franc Rode, a prefect in the Vatican, will begin a two-day official visit to Slovenia. Rode, who was invited by Ljubljana's Archbishop and Metropolitan Alojz Uran, will visit his home parish where Mass will be held at 4:30 PM.
PODGORICA, Montenegro - Slovenian MEP and the leader of the opposition Slovenian Liberal Democracy (LDS) Jelko Kacin is to attend a ceremony upon the official declaration of Montenegrin independence. Kacin was the head of European Parliament observers during the recent Montenegro independence referendum.
VELENJE - The NSi leader and Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to speak to the press at 5:30 PM after visiting Velenje and the region of Savinjsko-Salesko. The party is to present its candidates for mayoral elections due this autumn.
CELJE - A panel discussing the power of self-healing is to open the 2nd fair of healing, herbal medicine, healthy food and spirituality. The two-day Altermed is to feature more than 120 exhibitors from Slovenia and Croatia as well as some 70 lectures.
LJUBLJANA - The Union Olimpija basketball team is to play Geoplin Slovan at 8:05 PM in the fourth and possibly decisive match after beating Slovan 85:78 in the third match of the final of the UPC Telemach league on Thursday. Three wins are needed to win the national league.
