Ljubljana, 5 June - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 6 June:

LJUBLJANA - The core working group in charge of preparations for EU presidency, chaired by PM Janez Jansa, is to hold a meeting at 2 PM to review the state of preparations and open issues.

MOSCOW, Russia - A delegation of the National Assembly's parliamentary friendship group with Russia, headed by MP Rudolf Petan, is to start a three-day visit to Russia. Meetings with the kin group in the Russian Duma as well as Speaker Valentin Kupcov are scheduled.

LJUBLJANA - The head of the European Commission Representation in Slovenia, Mihela Zupancic, is to deliver a lecture at 4 PM entitled "Quo Vadis? EU and the Future of Europe".

LJUBLJANA - Ljubljana Mayor Danica Simsic is to receive Mufti Nedzad Grabus, the new leader of the Slovenian Islamic Community. A press statement is scheduled for 1:50 PM.

PORTOROZ - The final day of an international conference dubbed "Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Adriatic". Environment Minister Janez Podobnik is scheduled to speak to the press at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The executive committee of the ruling Slovenian Democrats (SDS) is to hold a session dedicated to the upcoming local elections. SDS leader Janez Jansa is to make a press statement at 5 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The parliament's committee for finance and monetary policy is to scrutinise proposed amendments to the income tax act and amendments to the insurance act at a session which starts at 2 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The management board of the Chamber of Commerce (GZS) is to discuss preparations for the adoption of the euro and the recently passed act on chambers of commerce at a session scheduled for 2 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The Movement for Justice and Development, a civic group set up by President Janez Drnovsek, is to stage a debate on the planned liquefied natural gas terminals in the Gulf of Trieste; at 5 PM.

BLED - A conference of women managers entitled "Excellence of Women Managers 2006" is to get underway at 9 AM. An award for the most influential businesswoman is to be conferred at 4:40 PM.

GORIZIA, Italy - A presentation at 11 AM of the company KB1909, which will outline cross-border finance, energy and telecommunications projects.

LJUBLJANA - A conference on patients' safety is to get underway at 8:30 AM. The Health Ministry is to sign a memorandum of cooperation with the World Alliance for Patient Safety at 10 AM, to be followed by a press conference.

LJUBLJANA - A news conference is to be held at 11 AM upon the 10th anniversary of the student publisher Studentska zalozba.
