Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 10 to 16 June

Ljubljana, 17 June - The week was marked by two key decisions - one surprising, the other expected. In a surprise for many, but none more so than Slovenian defence contractor Sistemska tehnika, the Defence Ministry decided that Finnish defence contractor Patria would be supplying Slovenia with 136 new armoured personnel carriers. Sistemska tehnika, which was the only other bidder, has already announced it would demand an audit of the decision. Meanwhile, EU leaders expectedly approved Slovenia's bid to join the eurozone at their summit.
