Ljubljana, 24 June - As it was gearing up for celebrations of its independence, Slovenia recognised independent Montenegro, opened its embassy in Podgorica, and published a White Paper on the border with Croatia. FM Dimitrij Rupel was in Italy meeting his counterpart Massino D'Alema in what was the first meeting with the new Italian centre-left government. Parliament had a busy week too, passing changes to the Constitution allowing for the establishment of long-awaited provinces and legislating "hora legalis" for youth under 16.
