LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to convene an extraordinary session at noon dedicated to confirming constitutional changes that would pave the path to the creation of provinces in the country. Moreover, lawmakers are to debate changes to act on audit of public procurement. (STA)
HOLMEC - Prime Minister Janez Jansa is to address the central ceremony to mark Police Forces Day. Also expected to attend the 1 PM ceremony at Holmec border crossing - the site where Slovenian police forces staved off attacks by the Yugoslav People's Army during the 1991 independence war - are Interior Minister Dragutin Mate and Police Director General Joze Romsek. LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary defence committee is to meet at 9 AM to discuss the Defence Ministry's decision for Finnish APCs. The session has been called by Aurelio Juri, MP of the opposition Social Democrats (SD).
EDINBURGH, Great Britain - Parliament Speaker France Cukjati is to begin a two-day official visit to Scotland. He is scheduled to kick off his visit by meeting Edinburgh Mayor Lesley Hinds (9:30 AM), after which he will meet Scottish Deputy First Minister Nicol Stephen (10:30), Parliamentary Affairs Minister Margaret Curran (4 PM) and Speaker of the Scottish Parliament George Reid (6 PM). His schedule also includes a meeting with Slovenians living in Scotland (5:30 PM). (STA)
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - EU environment ministers, among them Slovenia's Janez Podobnik, are to meet to discuss financial issues regarding the LIFE+ environmental programme as well as other topical matters.
