BERLIN, Germany - Environment Minister Janez Podobnik is to take part in a meeting of environment ministers from Germany, Portugal and Slovenia. The ministers are to discuss the 18-month programme of their consecutive EU presidencies as well as debate climate change and the trade in greenhouse gas emissions.
LJUBLJANA - The Economic and Social Council, the industrial relations forum, is expected to debate the 2006 Development Report, the 2006 Spring Report and a report on work permit quotas for this year at a session which starts at 10 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Inflation data for June and other statistical indicators are to be presented by the National Statistical Office at 10:30 AM (STA)
ANTIBES, France - Transport Minister Janez Bozic is to attend an international conference on the publication of the EU Maritime Green Paper.
LJUBLJANA - Higher Education Minister Jure Zupan is to present to the press at 11 AM the changes introduced by the amendments to the higher education act.
COPENHAGEN, Denmark - A two-day conference of parliament speakers from EU member states is to begin with the participation of Slovenia's Parliament Speaker France Cukjati and National Council President Janez Susnik.
LISBON, Portugal - State Secretary for European affairs Janez Lenarcic is to meet with his counterparts from Germany and Portugal, countries which will precede Slovenia at the helm of the EU in 2007.
LJUBLJANA - A session of the parliamentary EU affairs committee is to get underway at 2 PM. The MPs will examine two European Commission plans to bring the EU closer to its citizens.
MURSKA SOBOTA - State Secretary for Development Andrej Horvat is to visit Slovenia's poorest region of Pomurje, where he is to attend a working meeting on Pomurje in the EUs 2007-2013 budget framework and a panel on government sponsored reforms. A press conference is scheduled for 2:15 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate, police Director General Joze Romsek and Robert Susanj of the General Police Directorate are to present to the press at 9 AM a new road safety project.
PORTOROZ - The second Festival of European Film is to conclude in Portoroz in the evening with the award ceremony.
BREZICE - The Brezice Festival of early music is to kick off at 8:30 PM with a concert of the Italian Orchestra Barocca di Bologna.
