Weekly Review of Slovene Economy From November 14, to 19

Ljubljana, 19 November - Ministry of Economic Activities and Development in the past week issued a report on the number of the companies undergoing the process of ownership transformation according to the Law on Ownership Transformation. In a poll, carried out in the period from the end of July to October, the first estimations on the number and readiness of the companies to undergo ownership transformation were examined. 2157 Slovene companies are undergoing the process of ownership transformation of which 812 are companies - daughters. The number of the companies is lower than it was initially planned. Of the 2949 companies bound to undergo privatisation, several companies are no longer operating or are underwent bankruptcy. The public capital in the 2157 companies amounts to SIT 817.14 billion (DEM 13.4 billion).
