Press on EU's Contribution to UNIFIL

Ljubljana/Maribor, 26 August - Commentators of Slovenia's leading papers are unanimous in the assessment on Saturday that the EU's taking charge of the peacekeeping effort in Lebanon, as evident from the military contribution that EU foreign ministers agreed on Friday, signals a sea change in the bloc's global role. However Dnevnik also criticises the Slovenian government for thinking that it has to take part in any mission no matter how meagre its contribution is, whereas Delo points to the riskiness of the operation.
