EU Turns Down Slovenia Again

Brussels, 28 November - The European Council discussed the issue of beginning of negotiations on association between Slovenia and the Twelve during dinner on Monday, which is the informal part of the session. The issue was not on the agenda, Slovene Press Agency learned from diplomatic sources in Brussels. According to unofficial sources, Italy and the presiding Germany agreed on that on Sunday or on Monday morning. Undersecretary to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy Livio Caputo said at a news conference after the dinner that the EU foreign ministers did not adopt a positive conclusion regarding Slovenia.
