Ljubljana, 7 September - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 8 September:
LJUBLJANA - Unhappy with the course negotiations on the employment relationship act have taken, seven of Slovenia's largest trade union confederations are to stage a rally. The rally will feature some 500 union leaders who will head from their headquarters at 11 AM to the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs. (STA/PHOTO)
LJUBLJANA - The National Statistics Office is to outline economic growth data for the second quarter of 2006 at a press conference at 10:30 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to outline the preparations for the informal meeting of NATO defence ministers that is to be taking place in Portoroz at the end of this month. (STA)
HELSINKI, Finland - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to be taking part in a meeting of EU finance ministers. Prior to that meeting, Bajuk is to take part in a meeting of finance ministers from the eurozone, which Slovenia is to join as of the beginning of next year.
CELJE - Transport Minister Janez Bozic and representatives of the Slovenian Motorway Company (DARS) are to outline the new electronic toll system in Slovenia at an event held at the International Trade Fair at 10 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian-run International Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance is to receive the latest donation from the German government. An agreement to that effect is to be signed at 9:30 AM.
NOVA GORICA - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to unveil a statute to the defenders of Slovenian independence in a ceremony scheduled for 5 PM.
KRANJ - A ceremony is to be held at 4 PM to mark the execution of four Slovenian patriots in the Itailian village of Basovizza. Kranj Mayor Mohor Bogataj and Mayor of S. Dorligo Della Valle Fulvio Premolin are to be the keynote speakers.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian translations of the works of laureates of last year's Vilenica literature festival are to be presented at the Konzorcij book store at 11 AM. Meanwhile, this year's winner of the festival's main prize, Serbian poet Miodrag Pavlovic, is to be presented at a ceremony held at the Ljubljana Castle at 8 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The organisers of the 9th Festival of Slovenian Film, which is to run from 14 through 17 September, are to present the event at a press conference scheduled for 10 AM.
