Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 16 to 22 September

Ljubljana, 23 September - While the situation with Croatia calmed down this week, the spat between President Janez Drnovsek and Prime Minister Janez Jansa over additional funds for Drnovsek's office continued to make the headlines. As Drnovsek withdrew his request for additional cash and canceled his international activities, the debate about who is responsible for the situation erupted across the political spectrum. Meanwhile, the cabinet visited Slovenia's central region, FM Dimitrij Rupel is attending the UN General Assembly and Interior Minister Dragutin Mate is upgrading efforts to prevent the delay of Schengen zone expansion.
