Ljubljana, 26 September - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 27 September:

LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to continue its regular session at 9 AM. The agenda includes a general debate on the bill on municipal wardens' services that envisages the widening of powers given to the services, and changes to the citizenship act that introduce stricter criteria for obtaining Slovenian citizenship for persons married to a Slovenian citizen and those with a criminal record.

LJUBLJANA - Marija Zagozen, the head of the commission for the sale of the state's stake in the Slovenian Steel Group, is to present the key information on the tender and the procedures on the sale of the 55% stake. Tibor Simonka, the chief exec of the Slovenian Steel Group is also to be on hand at a news conference scheduled for at 10 AM. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - STA is to release a background on the 28-29 September meeting of NATO defence ministers in Portoroz. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm is to meet the president of the Macedonian Constitutional Court Mahmut Jusufi as the latter pays an official visit to Slovenia. At 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to launch a conference on hate speech, focusing on the role of public speech in forming social relations. The event, entitled "Words are Actions Driven by Speech" is to kick off at 9 AM.

CAMBRIDGE, US - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to conclude his 10-day visit to the US by delivering a lecture at Yale University.

LJUBLJANA - A panel on social inclusion - the employment of the disabled and other people who are difficult to employ - is to be attended by Labour, Family and social Affairs Minister Janez Drobnic. The event begins at 5 PM.

TIRANA, Albania - Franci Znidarsic, state secretary at the Defence Ministry, is to attend a meeting of the Southeastern European Defence Ministerial (SEDM).

TAMPERE, Finland - Public Administration Ministry State Secretary Roman Rep is to be one of the 1,200 civil servants to attend the 4th Quality Conference 2006 for Public Administrations in the EU.

LJUBLJANA - A lecture on personnel for Slovenia's presidency over the EU in 2008, organised by the Government PR and Media office and Center Evropa is to kick off at 4 PM.

LJUBLJANA - A Slovenian-American workshop entitled Environmental Science and Engineering is to kick off at 9 AM.

BLED - The 11th international congress of ear, nose and throat doctors is to kick off at 6 PM with Health Minister Andrej Brucan expected to deliver the welcome address.
