Ljubljana, 27 September - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 28 September:

PORTOROZ - An informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers is to get underway. The two-day meeting is to be chaired by NATO Secretary General Jaap De Hoop Scheffer. The session gets underway at 3:30 PM, while a joint press conference of De Hoop Scheffer and Slovenian Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is scheduled for 6:50 PM. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - Prime Minister Janez Jansa is to talk about topical political issues at a press conference scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to meet for its weekly session. The agenda includes amendments to the 2007 budget act and the 2008 budget bill, changes to the act on referenda, the banking act and changes to the act on excise duties. A press conference is scheduled for after the session, expectedly at 3 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - A general debate on the bill on public-private partnerships and changes to the personal income tax act filed by the opposition Liberal Democracy (LDS) will dominate proceedings as parliament resumes its regular session at 9 AM.

LJUBLJANA - An international conference on investment in Southeastern Europe is to kick of at 9 AM. The event, organised by the Slovenian Ministry of Higher Education, the UNESCO office in Venice and the Austrian Science Institute in Ljubljana, will look into the link between investment and socio-economic development. LJUBLJANA - The Government's Equal Opportunities Office and the Finnish Embassy in Slovenia are to host a panel on equality of the sexes in Europe; at 1 PM.

PRAGUE, Czech Republic - President of the National Council Janez Susnik is to be taking part in a two-day meeting of the Association of European Senates. The role of upper chambers of parliament is to be in the focus of the event.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Health Minister Andrej Brucan is to take part in a two-day Pharmaceutical Forum, which will focus on progress in the reduction of differences in drug prices among the EU member states.

LJUBLJANA - The coalition People's Party (SLS) is to present the lists of candidates for local councils and comment on the motion to oust Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti; at 9 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak is to deliver the opening address at the conference on digital broadcasting, which is organised by the Economy Ministry in conjunction with the European Commission; at 9:30 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The results of the Use of Internet in Slovenia 2006 survey are to be presented at 10:30 AM by the Department for Methodology and Informatics at the Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences.

MENGES - A ceremony is to be held to mark the 60th anniversary of pharma company Lek.
