NATO Secretary General Convinced Afghan Mission Will Succeed
Portorož, 28 September - Buoyed by the prospect that the NATO mission in Afghanistan would be expanded to the east of the country, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer voiced the conviction in his opening address at the autumn meeting of NATO defence ministers that the mission would succeed.
