Mitja Gaspari Presents Himself to Delegates
Ljubljana, 8 June - The candidate for the new Minister of Finance in the Slovenian government, Mitja Gaspari presented his programme for the work of this body at a joint session of two committees in the Slovenian parliament. To Gaspari, short-term aims represent the adjustment of the budget and tax policies, stabilisation of prices, preservation of the value of the local currency and a gradual revival of economic activities. The Ministry of Finance should adjust its organisation to its new tasks, especially in the field of creating an integral budget, managing financial resources and public debts, that is, creating a state treasury and establishing relations with international financial institutions.
