Conference on refugees

Zagreb, 9 June - The conference on refugees from Bosnia Herzegovina continues in Zagreb. Several (21) countries and international organizations participate. The meeting was organized by Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia Herzegovina. The Croatian Premier, Franjo Gregurić, spoke of the ruination of Croatia and about great problems with refugees, the expenses for their care rise to 91 million DM monthly. The Slovenian representative stated that Slovenia spent 7 million DM for refugees in 1992 and the international community provided help in the amount of 70,000 DM. He appealed for financial and other kinds of help and for the acceptation of refugees to other countries. He also proposed the establishment of safe and protected zones in Bosnia Herzegovina. The Slovenian delegation proposed the continuation of the Conference in the end of June or the beginning of July in Ljubljana.
