Danish Commercial Bank representatives visit Bank of Slovenia
Ljubljana, 11 June - The governor of the Bank of Slovenia, Dr. France Arhar, has been paid a visit by two representatives of the Danish commercial bank Unibank from Copenhagen. STA has been informed by the Bank of Slovenia that this bank is also the bank of the Gorenje Denmark daughter company. Unibank is the second largest bank in Denmark holding a total balance sum of DM 60 Billion. The bank has its representative departments in 22 foreign countries throughout the world, but its main business is in Europe. This Danish bank intends to intensify its co-operation with Gorenje. For a number of years it has maintained good relations with some of the Slovenian banks. Bank of Slovenia was also paid a visit by a representative of the Hessische Landesbank from Frankfurt, Thomas Pohl. The German guest has shown interest in the current economic and financial situation in Slovenia and in its entrance into international financial institutions. Pohl was also interested in the role of the Bank of Slovenia in the banking system of Slovenia, as well as of its obligations and competence in this field.
