LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to meet for its weekly session. The agenda includes a 2006-2009 stability programme and changes to the public funding of higher education. A press conference is scheduled for after the session, at 2 PM. (STA/PHOTO)
AMMAN, Jordan - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate is to begin a five-day visit to Jordan.
LONDON, UK - Public Administration Ministry State Secretary Roman Rep is to meet representatives of the British government and non-governmental organisations for an exchange of experience in the phasing of EU funds.
LJUBLJANA - The college of deputy group leaders is to meet at noon to call an extraordinary session of the National Assembly to debate the motion to oust Health Minister Andrej Brucan. The college is also expected to debate the regular session for December, due to begin on 14 December. The agenda of this session may include the appointment of Marjeta Cotman as the new labour, the family and social affairs minister after Prime Minister Janez Jansa put her forward on Wednesday.
ORMOZ - The parliamentary Agriculture, Forestry and Food Committee is to debate the future EU agriculture policy and EU wine market regulations at a session scheduled for 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Academy of Arts and Sciences (SAZU) is to put on a two-day panel themed "Problems of Democracy in Slovenia in 1918-1941". The event begins at 9 AM.
LONDON, UK - The Ljubljana Stock Exchange, the Securities Clearing Corporation, and CA-IB London, a subsidiary of Unicredito, are to stage an investor meeting, featuring some of Slovenia's leading listed companies.
MARIBOR - Day one of the 9th Slovenian tourist forum organised by the Slovenian Tourist Organisation (through 8 December) is to open at 9:30 AM.
CERKLJE OB KRKI - The ministers of economy, defence, transport and the environment are set to sign a protocol on the Cerklje ob Krki air base; at 4 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Food company Droga Kolinska is due to hold a press conference at 4 PM to unveil its business plans.
NIS, Serbia - The District Court in Nis is to begin the trial of Slovenian Silvo Plut, who is accused of murdering 25-year-old Jasmina Djosic in November 2004. Plut, who is serving a 30-year prison term in Sloveina for murder, is to be tried in absentia. If found guilty in Serbia, Plut could be made to serve the sentence in a Slovenian jail.
TRIESTE, Italy - A project exploring the cultural diversity of the Slovenian and Italian national communities is to be presented at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - "Kratki Stiki" (Short Circuts), the latest feature of Janez lapajne, is to premiere at the Kinoklub Vic cinema at 9 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's Union Olimpija is to play Joventut Badalona in the 7th round of Europe's strongest basketball competition, the Euroleague (group B). Tip-off at 8:45 PM.
GOTHENBURG, Sweden - Slovenia are to face Norway in round one of the European Women's Handball Championship at 7:15 PM. (STA)
