Ljubljana, 16 December - Candidates running for mayors in new Slovene municipalities had their last opportunity in the past week to convince electors that they are adequate for governing new local communities. In the middle of the week, Slovene Parliament adopted the last of the series of laws dealing with basic issues on new local management - the Law on Financing Municipalities. Two parties of the government coalition, Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS) and Slovene Christian Democrats (SKD), were busy measuring their strength over the issue of a new foreign minister appointment.
