Ljubljana, 24 December - Schedule of events in the week from 25 to 31 December:

MONDAY, 25 December
        LJUBLJANA/MARIBOR/KOPER/... - Christmas Day, a major holiday in the predominantly Catholic Slovenia.

TUESDAY, 26 December
        LJUBLJANA - Independence and Unity Day, a bank holiday to mark the day the results of the 1990 independence referendum in which the large majority of Slovenians endorsed independence were unveiled.

WEDNESDAY, 27 December
        LJUBLJANA - The Court of Audits is to unveil audit reports on salaries of directors in a selection of public companies and public utilities.
        LJUBLJANA - The Bank Association of Slovenia and transaction system operator Bankart are to hold a press conference to speak about the upcoming switch to the euro.

THURSDAY, 28 December
        LJUBLJANA - The Virgil Scek civil society organisation is to unveil the "Slovenia in Euroland" handbook.
        LJUBLJANA - The organisers of the fifth Triennial of Contemporary Slovenian Art, U3, are to unveil the plans for the event at a press conference.

FRIDAY, 29 December
        LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk and Governor of Banka Slovenije Mitja Gaspari are to hold a press conference to speak about the euro switch on New Year's Day.

SATURDAY, 30 December
        No major events scheduled.

SUNDAY, 31 December
        LJUBLJANA/... - New Year's celebrations are to be staged around the country on New Year's Eve.
