Schedule of Events for Sunday, 7 January

LJUBLJANA - Orthodox believers in Slovenia will join the Orthodox community across the world in celebrating the birth of Christ. The Orthodox Church celebrates Christmas on 7 January according to the old Julian calendar beacuse it did not adopt the Gregorian calendar introduced in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII.

LJUBLJANA - An exhibition on Joze Plecnik (1872-1957) is to open at the National Gallery on the 50th anniversary of the death of this internationally-acclaimed Slovenian architect. The event is to be inaugurated by Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti at 7 PM.

KRANJSKA GORA - The world's best women skiers are to take part in a World Cup slalom event held as part of the 43rd Golden Fox Cup. The first run starts at 9:30 AM and the second at 12:30 PM.
