STA Weekly Report (16-23 May 1993)

Last week was dominated by intensive diplomatic activities, following Slovenia's acceptance into the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Many foreign statesmen visited Slovenia. By the end of the week much was being said on the protection of minority rights and, in talks behind closed doors, on Slovenian-Croatian relations. The Slovenian public was most interested in the work of the National Assembly, which was less successful than had been forecast by some optimists. Despite the promises, all was still quiet at the Krško nuclear power station.
