Speech by Milan Kučan on the first anniversary of Slovenian independence

Ljubljana, 24 June - "During the last year we have managed to achieve objectives set by the national referendum, and we realized the dreams dreamt by many generations of Slovenians. We have been on our own, aided by friends who were not afraid and who did not disown us. We owe them our deepest gratitude and sincere respect."
