OVERVIEW OF THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS IN SLOVENIA FROM 21 JUNE TO 28 JUNE, 1992

Ljubljana, 29 June - Last week's events in Slovenia were marked by the anniversary of the declaration of independence. The celebration of National Day (25 June) provided an opportunity to think about the difficulties Slovenia has already overcome and numerous current political moves that will shape the future, especially the elections which are expected in the fall. The book Premiki ("Movements") by the Minister of Defense, Janez Janša, is one of these movements. The book contains the author's descriptions of the background of last year's June-July War in Slovenia and an evaluation of the actions of certain politicians and parties and has led to some political responses and protests.
