Ljubljana, 1 April - Below is a schedule of events for Monday, 2 April:

LJUBLJANA - Holy See's Secretary for Relations with States, Bishop Dominique Mamberti is to begin a two-day official visit to Slovenia. On the first day of his visit, Mamberti is to meet his host, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, and President Janez Drnovsek. Mamberti and Rupel are to make a statement at noon. (STA/PHOTO)

HELSINKI, Finland - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec begins a two-day official visit to Finland as part of which he is to meet his opposite number Seppo Kaariainen and Finnish Chief-of-Staff, Admiral Juhanin Kaskea. Erjavec is also expected to meet representatives of phone company Nokia and defence contractor Patria to discuss options for counter supplies following a major defence deal with Patria.

LJUBLJANA - A panel hosted by MEP and Social Democrats (SD) frontman Borut Pahor is to debate Slovenia's role in peacekeeping operations. The event, which begins at 5 PM, is expected to feature Foreign Minister Dimitrij, among others.

LJUBLJANA - The opposition national party (SNS) is to speak to the press at 1 PM about a draft resolution on the border with Croatia, a document the party plans to submit to parliament.

LJUBLJANA - The faction of independent deputies For Real is to hold a press conference at 11 AM to discuss difficulties encountered by couples with fertility problems.

PORTOROZ - Managers in the Slovenian energy sector are to hold a two-day meeting, featuring Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak and Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik. The pair is also expected to address a press conference at noon to debate Slovenia's energy policy.

LJUBLJANA - Health Minister Andrej Brucan and a representative of Bank Austria Creditanstalt leasing are to sign an agreement under which the contractor would supply equipment for the Ljubljana Oncology Institute. Following the 2 PM signing, the minister is to make a statement for the press.

LJUBLJANA - Social partners are set to resume negotiations on the social agreement at noon. The head of the government negotiating team, Dusan Krajnik, is to make a statement at 3 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Sports equipment manufacturer Elan and Gigodesign are to hold a press conference at noon after Elan got the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for the design of its skis. Development Minister Ziga Turk is expected to be on hand.

LJUBLJANA - The award for the most popular children's book and the Honour List diplomas of the International Board of Books for Young People for 2006 are to be handed out upon International Children's Book Day. As part of the festivities at Knjiznica Otona Zupancica, the major Ljubljana library, Sweden's Ambassador John H. M. Hagard is to open an exhibition on the centenary of the birth of author Astrid Lindgren; at 11 AM. (STA/PHOTO)
