Ljubljana, 8 April - Schedule of events in the week from 9 to 15 April:

MONDAY, 9 April
        LJUBLJANA - Easter Monday, a bank holiday.

TUESDAY, 10 April
        MARIBOR - Prime Minister Janez Jansa is to visit Maribor on the eve of the cabinet's tour of the Podravje region.
        LJUBLJANA - Heads of deputy groups in parliament are to hold a meeting with Speaker France Cukjati and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel to discuss a proposed resolution on the border with Croatia.
        BRDO PRI KRANJU - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate is to receive Macedonian counterpart Gordana Jankuloska.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliament's Intelligence and Security Services Oversight Commission is to hold a session to analyse answers to queries it recently sent to the National Security and Intelligence Agency (SOVA).
        LJUBLJANA - The parliament's Committee on Culture, Education and Sport is to look into the draft National Language Policy Programme 2007-2011.

WEDNESDAY, 11 April
        MARIBOR - The government is to visit Podravje as part of its tour of statistical regions.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliament's Committee on Domestic Policy, Public Administration and Justice is to debate the bill on election and referendum campaigns.
        LJUBLJANA - The general Assembly of the Health Insurance Institute (ZZZS) is to adopt the financial report for 2006.
        PORTOROZ - The three-day conference Day of Slovenian Informatics is to kick off.
        MARIBOR - The inauguration of a joint management centre of power utility HSE and its subsidiary Dravske elektrarne Maribor, which manages the chain of hydro plants on the Drava.

        LJUBLJANA - Raiffeisen Krekova banka, a small bank, is to present the strategy and projections for 2007.
        MARIBOR - Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje and Koper will present their candidacies for European Capital of CUlture 2012.

THURSDAY, 12 April
        BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to start an official visit to Argentina (until Sunday), which will be followed by visits to Peru and participation in the EU-Rio Group meeting in the Dominican Republic.
        LJUBLJANA - Weekly cabinet session.
        LJUBLJANA - Heads of deputy groups are to hold a consultation on the new division of posts in parliamentary working bodies due the changed balance of power following the defections of several Liberal Democracy (LDS) deputies.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliament's Defence Committee is scrutinise the report on the implementation of basic development programmes for the armed forces in 2006 and government reports on activities of Slovenian troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
        PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant is to take part in the 5th Eastern European e-Gov Days.
        VIENNA, Austria - Education Minister Milan Zver is to attend the second meeting of education ministers from Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia.
        LJUBLJANA - The National Council, the upper chamber of parliament, is to host a panel entitled "Sale of State Property".
        LJUBLJANA - The Government Office for Communication and the Centre of Non-governmental Organisations of Slovenia - CNVOS are to stage a panel on NGOs in the enlarged EU and the promotion of active citizenship.
        BRNIK - A press conference is to be held as Finnish carrier Finnair launched scheduled flights between Ljubljana and Helsinki.
        LJUBLJANA - Insurance company Wiener Staedtische is to present results for 2006 and plans for this year.
        
FRIDAY, 13 April
        LJUBLJANA - The college of deputy group leaders is to set the agenda for the April plenary session of parliament.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Commission for petitions, Human Rights and Equal Opportunities is to adopt a position on the report of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance, which said that much progress has been made by Slovenia since its last report, yet some of the problems remain unsolved.
        LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Prison Administration is to sign an agreement on cooperation with the Croatian Administration for the Prison System.
        WASHINGTON, US - Banka Slovenije Vice-Governor Darko Bohnec and member of the central bank's Governing Board Bozo Jasovic are to attend the annual spring session of the International Monetary Fund.
        LJUBLJANA - The Scientific Research Centre at the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts is to give out the Generations of Science awards for extraordinary achievements in science.
        MARIBOR - The start of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup event, which runs until 15 April.

SATURDAY, 14 April
        WASHINGTON, US - A Slovenian delegation headed by Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk will attend the spring session of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund; until Sunday.
        VELENJE - Celje Pivovarna Lasko, Trimo Trebnje, Krka and Gorenje will vie for the title of Slovenian handball champion at the final four tournament. The final game is scheduled for Sunday.

SUNDAY, 15 April
        ROGASKA SLATINA - The Movement for Justice and Development, an altruistic outfit established by President Janez Drnovsek, is to hold its annual general assembly.
